Beth, I don't have anything to say on Puerto Rico: we'll keep watching whether seismicity increases? Glen, I agree with what you say about different precursors for different faults and maybe none for some. Maybe it is not quite so bad, though, as different the same type of fault in similar environments might behave somewhat the same. I though that the lack of precursors for Parkfield (despite the couple of more or less accurate short term predictions here on that, one by Petra and one based on psychic (Tim??)) was somewhat meaningless to apply more widely, because Parkfield is an unusual place: very shallow base of seismicity and the edge of creeping section SAF.

Bull Seism, Soc America had an article on the animal behavior before the 1975 China quake. This may have been related to foreshocks. I've heard that it had been somewhat discredited, but I assume that it is true that the Chinese got people out of their houses and saved lives.
