Got an email from SCEC, with the link below. Looks like lots of info and links. Some of the links are to ground motion models. I think I heard at the SCEC meeting that ground motion is dependent by a factor of 3 on the velocity of the rupture of the fault. I imagine that this would have a (large) effect on what tall buildings survive. I recall, but may be wrong, that a slower rupture is worse than a fast rupture (John?).

I'm just a wee bit worried about the financial shakeout going on. Guess I've been through this before a couple of times. You kind of hope that the people who manage money, both for you and for the country, are competent.
