Though the pore-pressure and lubrication issues are legitimate (accepted as reasonable), I seem to recall reading calculations that showed load as being highly unlikely to be a factor in quake occurrence. The weight of the water adds only a microscopic increment of weight to the existing load of rock at typical hypocenter depths.
