My ExxonMobil post must have been too long...no comments on it. Seeing what is going on first hand by my own internet research really has me outraged! The newest is that The "Free enterprise action fund" is writing shareholder proposals to large companies...we saw them for General Electric and DuPont. Their statements includes "But scientific data show that atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas of primary concern in global warming, do not drive up global temperature." There link is to a youtube page (which I did not go to because of time, security, and the fact that my old home computer has no sound). So, I looked into this a little deeper. according to an article in Slate: http://www.slate.com/id/2140997/ One of the people involved, Thomas Borelli, was former manager for corporate scientific affairs at Philip Morris, and is a senior fellow at the National Center for Public Policy Research. The contributions list from the ExxonMobil web site, "gcr_contributions_public06", says ExxonMobil gave $55,000 to National Center for Public Policy Research. That group is really way out there...google it if interested. The link below has the stockholder proposal to GE...if you scroll down. Note that part of GE's business is now related to energy efficiency/solar panels etc etc. The linked article also links to a lecture of the Heritage Foundation. ExxonMobil only gave $30,000 to Heritage Foundation in that year (2006, I assume). Chris
