Gary, you did that post right, and it is interesting. John Vidale works up in that region now. Heartland Wife will be interested in this as she works part of the time on Mid Ocean Ridges...OK, I'll trot over and ask her.

OK, we looked at the maps and there was a M5.2 in last hour and a M5 on April 10...Is near Blanco transform fault....but not right on it.

With a cool map of multibeam bathmetry and the location of swarm...at that resolution, swarm is far from transform.

HW says that this plate is shearing and I recall that there can be large strike-slip earthquakes within the plate. The M5.0 and 5.2 do not have focal mechnisms on the USGS page. HW thinks it unlikely to be volcanic quakes here.
