Missouri and Mississippi river flooding

The latest dump of rain is going to causes rised of about 14 feet on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers in and around Missouri. The Missouri River is low now, so will be minor flooding. The Mississippi has already been flooding the last couple weeks. Was headed down, but now is headed back up to major flooding and still rising in 5 days at Cape Girardeau in SE MO (see link). I got into looking at these river level guages and predictions a couple weeks ago ...I had some scheme in my head to use flooded tributaries (and fields) to collect earthquake-related data in general New Madrid trend. Not likely to happen though, and not this year.
