Re: north/northeast Alaska future quake? |
Well, I know you will roll on the floor laughing, as did one the geology types at work, but it is not the first time I have had crazy ideas. From Ambler west/northwest and Fort Yukon on the east/north east and shaped like a big spoon full of ice cream had been removed will be at much higher risk then in the past due to global warming. As the ice melts I firmly believe that all the rules are going to change on quakes in the area. I must admit I have been researching food supply in relationship to weather changes over the 3% of land surface that provides the bulk of our world food supply and am feeling quite discouraged. That may be influencing my view on Alaska. I am working toward the view that no matter if you are a scientist, information specialist, or the person on the street I think we are going to all overestimate the time we have and underestimate the damage global warming will do to our lives. World view on a Sunday morning. Have a good week.
