I can understand budgetary issues. Yes, having someone do it for you is expensive. But, I'm wondering how audio-tech savvy you may be? Perhaps if you had the time you could do the work yourself. Although, time is the most expensive part of such a proposition. How many records do you have? I myself have a few boxes of old 78's inherited from my father. Vulcanized rubber. Ultimately, I'd like one of those laser scanning turntables. No needles touching the record. But they're NOT cheap. I guess part of my interest in them is I also have a background in electronics and a hobby in lasers. I sometimes wonder if it's not within my abilities to make my own. Anyway, it's good to see these kinds of preservation efforts. There is so much old stuff that's nearly forgot that if it's not preserved, will be lost forever. I think that would be a shame - no matter the genre.
