Howdy,

It's been nice being out of acadamia for a couple years. No midterms to grade, no finals to work on. Kids are coming up, and we are going to work around the house and watch movies. We are going to drop into the desert. I'm going to show them where the Coyote Creek fault crosses Hwy 78 near Ocotillo Wills. We have a hike planned for a section of the Elsinore Fault near Volcan Mountain, and we are hiking back up to the new crustal deformation GPS station.

I predict we will have an earthquake. My best guess is still the Imperial area around the Salton Sea. We'll see. For now...the hell with it. Rock and Rock folks. Soon enough.
