O/T: 5 years today since shock and awe

Well, I post a lot on geology and climate so, so far have been cut some slack for posts like these.
5 years ago today I went into the first antiwar rally of my life, in Manhattan. Sunday I joined a rally in our small city here (just over 1000 people, few students, lots of white-haired people).
So, I should not tell you what to think...but can suggest that you all take a few minutes to think.
Are we safer?
Was it legal and moral to start this war at that time?
Was it worth it?

Here is what I though over the last 5 years:
First, I am not anti-war and thought that the first Iraq war was justified, and the interventions in Kosovo and Bosnia were moral and needed, and was frustrated that the European community did so little in Bosnia (and the war criminals Mladic and Karaz..?? (the Serbian president) have not been arrested. I also supported the Afghanistan efforts/war.

I thought at the time that the Iraq war was neither moral nor justified: there was no imminent threat.
But, once we went in, I felt we had to stay to clean up the mess we had created. I've been conflicted about that ever since, and have mixed feelings even today, but there are a lot of smart people who think our presence is part of the problem and we should get out. I think we should get out in some orderly fashion.
Chris
