I was totally opposed to the war from the beginning. I was one of very few who seemed to be so opposed. I went to a candlelight protest vigil (broken up by the cops because we had candles and were considered a HAZARD.)

We invaded a country that had NOT attacked us. We had no reason for the invasion other than Bush's stupidity, Cheney's pure evil, and the deluded oil companies who really thought that they were going to get more oil out of Iraq. We bankrupted our country, killed hundreds of thousands, lost whatever good will we ever had in the Arab world, and made ourselves a laughingstock all over the world.

I said that this would happen at the time (Cassandra?), and was called a traitor by people in my own family. We were wrong, it was the biggest mistake America has made in centuries, and our grandchildren will live with the horrible consequences. There is NO easy way out of this one.
