volcano on TV

The two best things I ever saw on TV on volcanos was "the volcano watchers" on Nature on PBS, about the French (self trained?) volcanologists the Krafts. They were a bit nuts, and unfortunately the brought about 40 other people to their deaths in a pyroclastic flow on Mt. Unzen in 1992, including someone we knew from UCSB, who would have died 12 years before on Mt, St Helens except he was replaced that day.

The other is a Nova (PBS) on the USGS response to Mt Pinatubo (sp?) in philipines. Man, that eruption made some spectacular post-sunsets in Santa Barbara...the sun would set, it would start to get dark, and then there it would brighten again but bright orange-red...I suppose the dust in stratosphere was at a critical angle...then...months later, same, but weaker in Rhode Island, then, on Santa Cruz Island.
I've visited a few volcanos...I'm probably due...should go back to Etna....
