O/T Tigers

Well, the Mizzou tigers will be playing in a bowl game Jan 1....but the Siberian tiger in the San Francisco zoo is the topic today. In case any of you don't follow the news, it escaped and killed someone. As I posted in the AGU thread, I went with my daughter to the SF zoo and met 2 of her friends there 2 weeks ago. We saw that same tiger being fed...the keeper was rather careful in the feeding. But, we did not look at the outdoor enclosures.
I supose it could have been us. But, that will not stop me from making the following comment:
to escape a bear/tiger whatever, you don't have to be faster than the bear/tiger, you just have to be faster than the person with you.
Yes, they should display dangerous animals in zoos, but they should not underestimate the abilities of those animals. I have wondered in the past about how secure the enclosures were...can't quite remember if that was at the SF zoo or which animal.....
