critical stress

Structural geologist and professor at the local university, who is currently teaching the advanced structure class to 2 of heartland Wife's students among others, does not buy the concept of a fault storing stress enough for multiple earthquakes on the same part of the same fault. He started to show a formula for critical stress, but it was Friday and we were outdoors at the bar having a beer (or, in my case, several), and I asked if we could speak in generalities and get into equations some other time. Biking home in the dark on the rail-to-trail, it felt like my tires were low so when I got to the light at the paved road, I stopped to check but got tangled up in my toe clips and fell on my shoulder. Oww Oww Oww. I played tennis this morning even though it was my right shoulder and I am right handed...but found out I could chip and slice without swinging through.
