Some doubts |
Chris I differ with you in the aftershock concept. Why don’t you say the 8.4M itself was a aftershock of 9.3M in 2004? If not, what is the time frame fixed for the aftershock by experts? Another concept of experts that if a particular area was rocked with great one does not jolted again with the same intensity for many more years was came to an end after last year series of 8M quakes over Kuril. It is interesting and not a coincidence Chris. For the last couple of days, I have registered moderate to strong seismic activity particularly over Off West Coast of Sumatra. Recent 6M create feeling that the longitude is shifted from 96 to 92E. I doubt whether it is a new broken fault due to recent activities due to Auckland 7.4M quake. And fuel to the fire I am expecting 6 to 7M quake over the same area shortly. It will confirm my doubt, I believe. Let us watch.
