I say once you go over the "grapevine" north you are out of LA. Once you go up the Cajon Pass east you are "out" of LA. Totally different geology and fault structures involved. I agree with Ross Stein in that the SAF rules the roost,though. But Northridge quake is a animal of its own making. Chris knows more than I do.
