Actually, John said pairs close in space and time so I looked for matched within 1 hour and <100km and found over 100 cases of 2 or more quakes this closely related.

This is odd because all of them were mag 6 or better and the first was not always the larger.

Seems to me, foreshocks or aftershocks should not be that close in size.
