Yes I remember vivdly that the FIRST 5+ foreshock to Loma Prieta had NO aftershocks. The USGS was open to the fact that they though this was very concerning and did issue a warnning for the next 7 days that the bay area might experience a 6+ quake. Sure enough it happened just now in the 7 days they said it would. I have followed quake patterns enough to know it is odd that this one quake has had very little aftershock activity. If you remember back to December when there were a few 3s in the same area, there was a robust pattern of aftershocks. In fact, its been my observation that most if not all 4+ CA quakes have at least 10-30 1-2 range aftershocks and maybe a 3. So Catheryn, I totally see what you asking...all very interesting.
