Maybe for just getting started that would be okay and then it could be refined later on calculating aftershock probabilities. In my case (maybe others as well), with the technique that I use, I'm not able to determine whether or not that what I am picking up is an aftershock of a larger quake or a new quake altogether. Also I can't tell specific location either so the prediction would include an area that had a previous large quake. Many a time though, the prediction hit on a quake outside of the aftershock zone.
