Hi All,

Don and I decided to do some rock hunting in the river bed below my study area to see if we came up with the same kinds of rocks or different types. Well, they are the same, though highly polished from the river.

Its a very good spot, just off the road, through the barbed wire fence and you're into it. Although a few feet away there is another area that someone already cut the wire and it takes a path around and back over to a different section or the river. Walking along there I found some Buckeye Tree pods. I brought two that sprouted home to see if I can grow them.

But to say the least I was really in my element today. Along the bank of the creek, we were digging out some rocks and suddenly I was back in my early childhood days. Now, don't tell anyone. I used to do this type of thing at home. There was an area that had been excavated and above that there was a sidewalk. So I'd go out there and dig into this area and found rocks and such. To me, I was digging my way to China. Of course all of that came to a halt when the City of Encinitas came out and told my parents I had underminded the sidewalk and they had to pay to fix it. After that, well, it was the hen house for me. I accidentally caught it on fire and burned it down. Geeeeeez.

Don is sitting next to me shaking his head. He always said he thought I was weird and I think now he feels this confirms it. (go figure)

Anyway, the back of the car has about 50 plus rocks. I need to wash them and examine them to see what we have. I had this idea for an experiment recently. I thought if Don could go out in the garage and break a rock while I was in the house with mufflers on my ears, then I could see if I could hear any ear tones when they broke. But you know, there is just no way for him to break them without me hearing him doing it. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I suspect most of you aren't posting due to it being tax time. Well, I haven't done mine yet and its been a few years since I did it the last time. But I do enjoy a good challenge and taxes may just be it. When and if the audit comes, I think the tax people should understand why I don't do mine exactly like everyone else. Don says I don't do anything exactly like anyone else. I think he hasn't forgotten my 3 problems of late. Using room spray as cologne, gluing my fingers together when putting on artifical nails and the worst, getting to much tanning cream between my nuckles. It tooks weeks to get rid of that even using whitening cream. Gosh!

Though the weather could be better, hunting down rocks and tree pods is indeed a fun thing to do.

4 miles from the RCF...Petra with Cowboy Don...Oh, the good life!
