My logic is based on a pattern. For most of the world a pattern would not work, but up there if you look at the quakes long term there does seem to be a fairly consistent ping-pong pattern for lack of a better way to describe it. Usually a series of 2 pointers then one bigger quake (west end) usually followed by 2-5 smaller ones to the west of the original "starter" quake. Then followed by a quake within .2 to .9 of the larger "starter" quake at the east end of the current event usually with a series of smaller ones and then back to the west. Most of the "starter" quakes are to the west and work back to the east. A good series will have 2-3 larger quakes at each end with a series of smaller 2 pointers in the center. I am not a scientist. My work is looking at information in detail and providing analysis in a clear concise packet. You are right. We need a bit more action on the board, it has been a bit quiet since the holidays.
