Another piece of the puzzle? |
Howdy, I also noticed this 4.02 quake down by Guadalupe Victoria. Nothing outstanding, except that it suggests the divergence in the Laguna Salada is active. I look at combinations of data, and look for the larger geologic picture. This focal is not strike slip. I'm just wondering if a divergent area can deform with the same rapidity as a transform fault? I think the deeper transtensional deformation is relational to the activity in the detachments of the southwestern Salton Trough. Just reading tea leaves for now.
