Q for Chris---Miocene Rotation

Hello Chris,

This spring I want to study Poway clasts, and the relationship of the Poway conglomerate to the rotation as suggested by A. Eugene Fritsche. One thing that is interesting is that Dibblee found "Poway type" clasts in the Anza formation near Ocotillo. Poway is on the west side of the Penninsular range, Ocotillo on the east. These clasts have not been found any where in the Penninsular Range, but I think I found some. (Near Volcan Mountain, west side.) So I should collect samples from each area, and then have a geologist do a comparative of them? These are red rhyolitics with quartz phenocrysts, or a spread of quartz crystals throughout the host assemblage. My main evidence is the clasts in the Anza formation that far south. I'm thinking some small proto conglomerates are scattered in the Penninsular, but have not been discovered yet.
