Geomagnetic storms progress report
Posted by Roger Hunter on December 18, 2006 at 08:54:14:

Hi all;

I found a list of storms from 1932 to 2004 compiled by Volker Bothmer on the NASA site. These were 8- and up storms. For a first look I used the years 1974 to 2004, since further work on small quakes can't go earlier than that. I compared them to the 7+ quakes from the Centennial Catalog by Engdahl which can be found on the NEIC site.

Results show that there are fewer quakes than expected using an 8 day window starting on the day of the storm.

Roger
