Roger....OK, you are right, I was thinking about the number of quakes rather thn the number of storms...although the number of quakes comes in there also. You could increase the number of storms by including Kp=7+. Someone, maybe Lowell, had an explanation for why flares might suppress quakes for a couple days..on this page. Maybe someone wants to search the archives. I've gotten no response from anyone on whether the perceived (by me) quiet times for quakes in California are real or imagined or instrumental. If small quakes are clustered, then a sample of 120 storms might show either enhanced or suppressed quakes as a statistical error, rather than something "real". But, if small quakes are uniform, then a sample of 120 storms should show no relation if there is no relation. I'm not any good at statistics, so someone correct me.
