Thanks Mike, It does appear as a proper noun. I'll look into that. Also, the place I have seen the term "backslip" is in regards to the ETS, Episodic Tremor and Slip in the Cascadia Subduction. By the way, from what I have seen, it is either running late or is not going to happen. I believe that is a reversal of the thrust zone up there. John would know much more than I, but I have read that the entire Pacific Plate "backslips" by a few mm every 14 to 16 months. The problem there is a lack of records on the occurence. This could be a nominal part of the subduction cycle. Or....It could be locked. Ouch, if that thing goes..
