You got me there. It is not the entire Pacific plate. What occurs is the direction of deformation reverses. I have a link to the Episodic Tremor and Slip update page. (Canada) My use of the term comes from those doing the work.

Yes, the Cascadia will rupture again. What I was referring to was the actual ETS event. So far, it has not started. It is getting late in the normal time line pattern. The problem is there is not enough historic data on it to know if a missed episode is normal or not. Or, the entire recorded series could be an ephemeral event, and now it is ending.
