The Optimum Lookdown

Hello Brian,

I would like to see an integrated system which allows us to look down on a swarm like Littlerock (computer generated, based on scientifically derived data) from 5 km height, 10 km distal, and circle the swarm with epicentral and depth characteristics. The optimum would include not just little points for the micro quakes, but beach balls based on highly senstive instrumentation. This would answer the question of whether Littlerock is strike slipping, thrusting,
or running in an oblique pattern. In essence, this would be the ultimate in pattern analysis. I can conceptualize earthquake patterns at depth. But to visualize this pattern would arm our best seismologists with an extremely valuable tool. Can that be done? Wonder what Roger thinks. Comments? (the small tensor solutions would be the give away to a bigger quake, I think)
