Re: #5064 - a waste of space?

Canadian Mitigation specialists say were drastically unprepared for a large intraslab earthquake here in B.C., and that it could cause a tsunami from the Fraser River that would wipe out some of the Gulf Islands and other areas with far denser population on the East side of Vancouver Island, where there is a little bay called Nanoose where my folks live. The Vancouver Sun a few vdays ago published an article on the tsunami hazard from slides of the Fraser River Delta during a tremor in the range I had described. MOST of the work I do is merely relaying known information to the public so that they may prepare for hazards they face and understand the risks of they area they now occupy. A lot of people I meet in Victoria have just moved from other places in Canada and when I post for our local hazards I make copies and use them like a laptop with other copied information as a more complete way to show the whole picture. The fact that myself and many other earthquake preparation specialists (some of which are on this board) continuously repeat the hazards that exist is that there will always be more people who need to know the facts and how to be better prepared. A week after the 6.8, the Vancouver Sun wasted a couple of pages (on saying what I thought it valid to post three weeks before the largest intraslab in 52 years struck). Fluke? Canie you never cease to amaze me. Why do you call this a prediction forum? It all comes down to being prepared to waste a lot more space than I did. Preparing the unprepared. ?!?&?!
