More Ear Tone Research |
Hi All, This morning at 8:40AM I had a left ear tone that sounded crystal clear, lasted 20 seconds and then I heard something new. A large background sound. Its as though this tiny strand that delivered the initial sound suddenly spread out. Don was here, so he noted the timing and the sounds qualities. So we both wondered if taking this sounds time and dividing it by the total mileage to Olympia WA from my house (754 miles) would give me a marker for future measurement on distance. Take 754 divide it by 20 seconds and that means an ear tone is received at 37.70 miles per second. Now future research as to locations can hopefully be used to determine distances to epicenters and may solve the mystery in this regard. I'm sorry to see those in the northwest suffering from this disaster. As most of you know I lived in the burbs of Seattle for 5 years. I still have many friends who live there and many fond memories of a quake free life while living there. Hopefully restoration will be quick and the suffering short.
