Hi Martin,

Your statement of "Or maybe they're just lying and saying there probably wouldn't be any further activity?...mb." seems harsh and yet I wonder, is it?

This issue has two sides of the fence. One, I can see where the scientists involved might not wish to create panic, so they say nothing. Two, if you said something, then maybe people would be prepared and not panic when the aftershocks roll through. Its difficult to assess sometimes.

However, it reminds me of what happened just after the Turkey earthquake. On the TV news a seismologist from England told the public that they expected this earthquake for two years. Yet, during that two years there wasn't any emphasis placed on airing earthquake preparedness messages so the citizens in a general way would start doing something before it occurred. This bothered me greatly.

Today, it bothers me that in our San Francisco Bay Area, the chances of a large earthquake rambling through are very high, and as each day passes even higher. We need to do something to encourage preparedness. The odds don't mean much to the average citizen, but gentle reminders with a few facts might make the difference about how many are unprepared or otherwise. I was thinking about this yesterday and decided to make some contacts with those who have outreach programs and find out how to reach out and get the ball rolling.

As a note in passing, I finally received my papers from the freedom express and a judge has issued me my new name. I shall forever more be known as Petra Nova Challus.

Oh Happy Day!

Petra
