Re: OT: Regarding Petra

I can't understand why people doubt Petra at her word. Of course I remain oblivious to many things that occur on these various posting venues.

When people don't agree on a point, it is considered a discussion, perhaps escalating to a debate.

An attack on an individual, well, I always took that as conceeding one's point because it was a diversionary tactic. The discussion remains unresolved until the next time, hopefully without the personal attacks.

Petra, puts out her perspective, yet she gets attacked because she refuses to conceed a point or doesn't agree with an issue. Why can't any of us keep our perspective or why can't we agree to disagree?

I've had to think about that for a while.

True, she's been dealing with some heavy duty personal issues, but is it any wonder that Petra can be a person with real feelings at least part of the time?

Perhaps even being sensitive when people disregard her point.

( I know I would be if our positions were reversed and I wore her shoes for a bit. )

As to the political atmosphere here, I've decided to lurk more because altho I do enjoy the information posted, it's harder to discuss things in a perceived less open minded environment.

There are a few here that are fun to read and these things don't apply to them.

I will have to work through this, because I realize that I make myself feel this way, but it haunts me. Until I can resolve it, lurking will have to do.

Sharing is what makes this place. Sharing something of yourself can make reading more very interesting. Yet, some posters here object to that, preferring the clinical perspective.

I consider Petra a very inspirational person and there is nothing here that can make me change my opinion. She has pushed my interest in what she presents and I have researched and read more because of how she made things so very interesting. She has a gift.

I hope that many here will kiss and make up with her if they are on the outs.

Someone has to take a first step.

If you don't agree with me, fine, but my opinion will not change on this.

Please don't attack me over this, it will only waste time, specifically yours.

(Thanx Canie, I just had to say what I've been holding in over all of this.)
