While I've done many signings solo, I prefer to team up with a high-profile person. Also, I've learned that people do not like to be talked at but they prefer to interact with the author and/or guest speaker/subject. Remember in college how the professors who got the class involved were much more in demand than the ones who talked at you? That's my mission on these book signings. The people can read the books; we're there to talk about them, their experiences, and how they can predict and prepare for an upcoming quake in their seismically active area.
