Given all that you know about earthquake prediction the question just begs to be answered: Is there anything out there which you would give even a modicum of credence to in predicting earthquakes?

I haven't seen it yet, unless it resides inside of some type of empirical math equasion which has nothing to do with looking at real and present precursory phenomena. You're not into Geysers, FFA Theory, Mogi Donuts and I don't think I've ever heard you make an utterance in regard to Butterfly Patterns. Is regional seismicity it? Oh and I hope we aren't going to rehash b-value. If 65 years of it hasn't taught anyone it is totally worthless, then there's something wrong.

I'm fairly sure if one has not latched onto one of the above, minus b-Value, success would be way far away.

So John is this why you are camping out in the court that says earthquake prediction is impossible? I'm not camping in the court that everything that is underway now is an effort along the lines of future earthquake prediction because it's not. SAFOD is a money pit. There's a minimum of 10 years to go before it might find something worthy of noting. They are 17.5 mil into it already and where is the long term funding coming from? Will they shut down after 5? I can't imagine it being funded beyond where it is today. This fruitless funding isn't the answer.
