I've always found this site interesting, informative, provocative.

The prediction theories, interesting in their own right have always been secondary with me.

It's been a privilage to be able to read what things about earth science you all find fascinating or what keeps everyone literally spellbound. So many directions and so much to read and decipher.

I love it! ( love the links you all share! )

Now I have to add my 0.0025 cents. (1/4 of 1 cent.)

It's all a matter of perspective. When I look at writing a computer program the overall task can seem daunting. Then you break it up into smaller tasks, which get smaller and smaller, until it gets managable. It almost becomes easy. I doubt we will ever be able to apply this same simple principal to earth science because Nature is just too complex. You've got to start somewhere tho.

Brian really put it into perspective the task that so many labor over, Don has such a multilayered overview, it's very easy to get overwhelmed.

The multilayered overview can be overwhelming, beautiful but definately overwhelming, like trying to look at the entire Grand Canyon all at once. A very hard site to take in because once you do, the sun seems to have moved, constantly changing the shadows of the view you are trying to see. It played with me when I tried to do this. (southern canyon viewing.) A static object that seemed to have motion. ( It's nice to see that altho knowledge is power, we are all human. Don't ever change Don, your perspective, it's always very humbling and inspiring. As is your sense of humor. )

I, too believe that there are probably a few clues, that nature will give us the upperhand on prediction eventually, we just have to be clever enough to recognize them when they appear.

(Petra is one of those who just might be!)
