I would guess that Petra is pissed at my post, which is her right. Actually, I was going to get around to posting the most interesting predictions that I have seen here...the first is the purely psychic prediction of, I think, "Tim", who no longer posts here..for the Parkfield earthquake. IMHO, and I am allowed to have one, if Tim applied for funding to evaluate continue his predictions, and his application came across as non-scientific, it would not be funded. Actually, there are liable to be rules about affiliation with a university or other grant-eligible company. It had crossed my mind that Roger's involvement in a SCEC prediction evaluation effort might be useful, but there is some question as to whether he would have any chance at funding (he would probably have to get an adjunct position at U Colorado or something. Actually, I have no idea whether the Keck funding will be used for this sort of thing...it may all be used to run efforts at SCEC proper (USC).
I did not say anything about whether or not Petra would have a chance at getting her group's work looked at.
I did not say or imply that Petra was psychic. I have no idea, and probably don't care, whether her 50,000 words are well-written...I was just talking about what I do: If I wrote 50,000 words in 2 weeks, it would not be well-written: I would have to take weeks or months to clean it up. My impression from what I have seen is that most people writing research papers and proposals need some editing. I do, and will be sending some text off today or early this week to co-authors to look at.
