Hi Chris, Attached is the link to the press version of Costas Synalakis, et al's research. This was commissioned by FEMA/OES to determine tsunami hazards for the California coastline, so it is one part of perhaps others. Now as to the type of paper where you'll see my work, it's quite the same as yours, but it does have elements of serious science. I've had to do my homework, build a model and explain why I believe a 7.7 earthquake is going to happen on the island in 2007. While its easy to say "an earthquake may occur", it is quite different to say exactly what happens during that earthquake and what a tsunami does in real time. These descriptions require hands on experience or drawing from others who have had this experience. You'll see that and a lot more in about three months when Seismic Wave hits the Internet. It is full of geology, (the hands on science) where a cracker jack scientist issues a prediction for a 7.7 on Catalina island with the resulting tsunami and more about what happens to this scientist post earthquake. It's my paper on six years of research on earthquake prediction, but in a vehicle which is very much like a screen play and sometimes I'm sure some people will find it frightening, sort of chair gripping as one reviewer said. Of course I have had a little assistance from time to time on some issues I've created, but the work on the earthquake prediction and event are entirely my own. It is indeed true to life and of course includes earthquake safety information here and there. This story will come to readers as a free read. There are points to be made, serious ones and in the end everyone will understand that to be a scientist and take the road less traveled, is not as easy as it seems. Petra
