Unbuntu...all versions...Ubuntu, Edubuntu and kdebuntu are very well done. Running the PPC version on my Mac. Only downside to the PPC version is no flash module for firefox for example...

Knoppix is outstanding in bootable CD emergency version for those in IT. Makes for an outstanding recovery boot and utility disk regardless of whether the sick box is a Linux box or a Windows box.

You can even add a utility that lets you reset Win2k/XP passwords from within Linux - of course Microsoft pretends otherwise.

Unix based OSes have always been great for nifty little OS, file, and network utilties...courtesy of 30+ plus years of ongoing use and development.
