So far, none are working properly on my PC.

There's always some problem to work around. The Linux guru types always come up with some "Oh well, you need to run goof. That's in /bin/sed/. EVERYone knows that!"

Right now, Knoppix is best but it won't install (V3.3) and screens are too big at 800x600 so "Enter" buttons can't be seen. Minor things like that.

I'm a programmer not a )(&*)* sysadmin.
