I had the honor of being on a field trip in the Santa Ynez Mountains many years ago with Tom Dibblee---truly an amazing man. His absolute LOVE of geology was wonderful and inspiring. His sense of wonder never seemed to fail, and that seems to be a hallmark of every "true" geologist (pro or not)

In re health care: My hubby is retiring---so we're going to be in the health care mess also, especially since he is a cancer survivor. Yes---we Americans are sheep right now, and it is pathetic that we just refuse to learn how to vote in our own best interests!

Did you know Dibblee's co-worker Helmut Ehrenspech? Also a delightful person, alas he died waaaayyy too young!
