Re: Use or non-use of scientific method |
When talking about formulating earthquake predictions, I'm basing my statements on my years of experience over on ca.earthquakes and then sci.geo.earthquakes. Your right about magnitudes changing. But that can be agreed upon beforehand on how to handle that situation. In my case, Alan Jones (who was monitoring my predictions) and I agreed to wait on the NEIC QED reports that come out a 7 days later. Several times I had misses after the window closed which changed to hits after the QED came out. Basically, the QED also reports on magnitudes from other recording agencies as well such as Harvard. Never did have a hit changed to a miss though. We also agreed on going with the highest reported magnitude for that quake but I've changed my opinion on that since then. Reason being is that the signals I recieve aren't based on any one magnitude scale and I'm just trying to get as close as possible to any of the magnitudes. But the fact is, I receive the signal before the quake while the various magnitude scales are reporting on different aspects of the quake. The to aren't related. As to Bees, what your reporting is very interesting. I can't say if it means anything though. I do know that based on the amount of magnetite in their bodies, they are affected by increased magnetic fields. A professor at Caltech had shown this but I don't remember his name right now. How's your readings on the Mammoth area right now?
