"be fair. Shan uses a +3 degree box around his given locations so that's a clean hit."

Alright, Roger, I will be as fair as fair can be. But if 3 degrees means 333km, as Chris noted, then what was that talk about the 200km limit? (And also in August Shan claimed a hit in Tokyo after predicting Wakayama, which was more than 800km away).

In addition, Shan's post to this board has the Niigata location NEAR W. CST EASTERN HONSHU (37.2N 138.6E) in the lower magnitude category, while only his website prediction had it in the higher magnitude category.

In his last post, Shan stated that these two categories emerged from separate precursors.

If it's in the low magnitude category, the 6.4M is too high. If you count the high magnitude category prediction, then that is the website prediction and NOT the prediction posted here.

Furthermore, it is puzzling how the same location appears in different categories representing different precursors. We will never know, because Shan refuses to tell us how he calculates locations from shadow deviations.

So, in summary, I would have to say that his hit was not a clean one, but quite messy indeed.

P.S. Isn't it a strange coincidence that a week or so before all of the major quakes, Shan's neighborhood is cloudy, so he misses them? Maybe he could combine cloud prediction and get a better result.
