Well, I excerpted that from Shan's post directly above (top of this thread). Shouldn't be too exhausting to check out the context without me quoting the whole post.

Let us know if you figure out what Shan is talking about. It is too vague for me, and I think the problem is not about English usage, but rather his own reluctance to spell out clearly what he is doing.

To Shan, I would say: better to keep your method totally secret, than to make vague ambiguous incomplete statements. You do not gain credibility that way, you lose it.
