When I saw the news reports about the whales beaching themself I immediately thought about the similar activity preceding the Mt. St. Helen's eruption. Actually, there had been three a small one in addition to the two larger grey whales.

As you mentioned - look for something 4ish near the mexican border. Last night, there was a 4.1 in Calexico, near the Mexican border.

I can understand the prediction as to activity with regard to the whales' behavior. But, why the Mexican border??
