Things To Do During A Earthquake

Hi All. Thought I would pass these little tips on to you to do in the event of a major quake. Take Care…Don in creepy town

1) When you become aware of the occurrence of an earthquake, remain calm. That should be easy. They tell you that before any emergency such as plane crashes, ships sinking, being flattened by a hurricane etc.

2) Grip the armrests of your chair as firmly as possible to prevent dislodgement. It makes your fingertips so numb you won’t feel them getting hit by debris.

3) To prevent being struck from flying debris, make your profile as small as possible by placing your head between your knees with you fingers interlaced over your head. Not easy to do when gripping the arms of the chair.

4) As the effects of the earthquake increase, kiss your butt goodbye. That’s why you put your head between the your knees. You’re almost there.

5) Shout “stop” to the earthquake. Won’t do any good, but it does give you the feeling you’re in charge.

6) Think about where you put your insurance policy. You may need to get it before the fire consumes it. Also gives you something to read while waiting for rescue.

7) Do not use the phone unless you have an emergency such as broken arms, legs, head. Bleeding profusely is always a good one.

8) If you are in bed when the quake strikes stay there. You will already be laid out in the event the earthquake kills you. If you are elderly and the misses is in bed with you you may want to take advantage of it by doing something you haven’t been able to do for a long time.

9) Have two flashlights with extra batteries. The first flashlight is used to find the second one in the event you can’t find the batteries, or they have died since you bought them 10 years ago.
