Canie...they say E-W thrust fault at the bottom of that report, but it is not a thrust focal mechanism..the ENE-striking nodal plane is steep...a thrust dips less than 45 deg according to my geological dictionary. Yes, it looks like the ENE-dipping plane is half reverse and half left-lateral. The WNW plane is more strike-slip than reverse. The San Andreas is WNW-striking in that area and probably dips north. The link says "fault dips to the northeast at an angle of approximately 46 degrees"...so there they are evidently picking the nodal plane parallel to the San Andreas....
So, my statements in previous post stand...the USGS is using terminology loosely, and I think the statement at the bottom of the link is incorrect. OK, I'll check the SCEC CFM and post again...
