Yes this has been the major news story here locally all day. Our local CBS station, KCBS just dedicated the full 1/2 hour of news to this with their main anchorman reporting from the site. None of these homeowners are insured for land slides and if these people are lucky they will all be elgible for a federal loan of $240,000 w/ very low interest. The catch is the cheapest house to be destroyed today starts at $1.5 million and they go up to $4 million. So not much help.
