The local weatherman mentioned that there was a magnetic storm warning for extereme conditions...so I checked the space weather page (below), and it did get to Kp=9=extreme, but only for one 3 hour period...it followed a flare that did not quite get to X class....but the proton pattern is a little different than I am used to seeing....gee, beer andt go well together...
