Don, you may want to check up on Walker Lane belt. Not my neck of the woods, but thought it was a zone of right-lateral faulting (no doubt associated with some extension and normal faulting, at least in places). I think that, from Owen's Valley, it runs into Nevada (??)....whether it cuts back across to northern California to where the recent quake was, I don't know....but even if a zone of faults does do that, I doubt its called Walker Lane up there...
