Hi Chris. When I first started looking at the Walker Lane Belt about 7 years ago that broad area in the south kind of surprised me. I imagined it to be somewhat like a fault only a little wider, but it didn’t turn out to be that way. I’m sure there is a lot about the Walker Lane Belt that isn’t understood. Then again there are a lot of things that aren’t understood so why should this be any different? By the way. There is an old oil field just to the SW of Gilroy, California. That is about 8 miles NW of where I live. An oil company has bought up the lease for the land there and is going to open the well that is there. It has a depth of a little over 15,000 feet. It sits in between the Sargent fault and the San Andreas fault. I’m sort of curious as to how that is going to affect the faults in the area. Take Care…Don in creepy town
